Noddy Parties: About him, and his friends
In the picture book heart of Toyland we find Toy-town, where the
streets are lined with building block houses occupied by every type of
toy imaginable! Best of all Toy-town is home to Noddy! Toy-town is a
tumbling bundle of joyful characters: toys of every size, age and
description, but the differences within this diverse community never
stand in the way of everyone pulling together and helping one another.
Noddy:
Noddy is the little wooden boy who loves to play. Filled with
enthusiasm, curiosity and unstoppable drive, his strong sense of fair
play and good heart means he’s always welcome all over Toyland. With his
cheery inventiveness and some help from his friends, Noddy always saves
the day. He’s a hero, always ready to come to the aid of people in
trouble. He is the prime attraction, in the entire toy-land of
toy-friends, whom children look to, in this Enid Blyton. Big Ears:
Big Ears is a magical, friendly Brownie who lives in a toadstool on
the edge of the Enchanted Wood. Noddy loves to visit his old friend and
is always greeted with a smile, a story and some skew-whiff sorcery. The
truth is, Big Ear’s magic rarely goes to plan and can land you in all
sorts of mishaps! Tessie Bear:
Tessie Bear is Noddy’s closest friend. She’s blessed with the
sunniest personality and lights up a room as soon as she enters. As you
might expect from a bear that lives in a picnic hamper, every day is
open house at Tessie’s! There’s always something baking or a party being
planned.
 Mr. Plod:
Mr. Plod’s job is to keep everyone in Toy-town happy and having fun.
This normally means making sure the naughty goblins don’t get up to any
of their usual mischief. Mr. Plod finds nearly everything incredibly
funny. So funny, in fact, that he sometimes can’t talk for laughing!
Bumpy Dog:
Bumpy Dog is Noddy’s most faithful friend. He is brave, loyal and
lots of fun, diving into every situation without thinking, always ready
to run, play, explore… and dig!
Bumpy’s bumpy nature can sometimes cause problems, especially with Mr.
Wobbly Man, but this is made up for by the Skittle family who just love
to be bowled over! Car:
Noddy zips around Toy-town in the red and yellow Car. A caring friend
and helper to our hero, Car is always there to warn Noddy of trouble
with a loud ‘beep-beep’ of his horn.
When the going gets rough Car can change into a monster truck and even a
hover craft for sea adventures! Whiz:
Whiz came from Robot Town to run the garage. He’s something of a
newcomer and is still getting to grips with Toy-town ways, but his new
neighbors are always happy to help him figure things out. Whiz likes
things ordered and tidy, which sometimes causes problems with his messy
assistant, Lindy the fairy. Sly and Gobbo:
Sly and Gobbo the goblins hate to see anyone having fun – they like
nothing better than a dull night spent in their tree-house scowling and
grumbling. Goblin rule number one is ‘always try and spoil the fun’ and
they go out of their way to think up ways of spoiling the exuberant Toy-towner’s
fun! Together with all the members of Toyland, Noddy will create havoc
among your children, such that they will always remember their Noddy
party for a long time. So, it is a good idea if you are trying to set up
a theme party, and it is even better if you are planning a Noddy party.
There is nothing better as an idea than that.
